The sky was bright with a diffused aurora in the west somewhat washed out by the light of a very bright moon.  The eastern sky was spectacular as this trio rose above the horizon.

Well done Les in capturing this beautiful alignment and you have just managed to pick up Mars rising above the horizon too.

Congratulations to Les on the very first Leonid captured this year on 4th November. We now know that we are expecting the Earth to pass through a very early and old cometary dust trail of 1001AD on 8th November so this confirms that there is activity to be observed leading up to this event. The conjunction if Venus and Jupiter is a rare and beautiful sight captured beautifully in the wide field images.
