Description
I was in Reykjavic in the first week in November and I managed to get a couple of images of two auroras that occurred on the 3rd and the 9th when I was there! Taking direct images with the camera is not in my normal comfort zone but some turned out OK, many did not. Unfortunately on the 3rd they were taken from a car park in front of the hotel close to the main thoroughfare but the aurora was quite bright. On the 9th I managed to get to the sea front, although there was a major carriageway running along the front, but some came out reasonably well considering there was a lot of cloud cover and the carriageway lights caused a few obvious artifacts! They do not convey the real magic of viewing the actual aurora, even from a brightly lit city, that was true magic.
