EAAS COVERAGE OF ANNULAR ECLIPSE OF THE SUN 31st MAY 2003 | | Hello all, I hope you all got a glimpse of the eclipse, 31st May 2003??? I arose about 4.30am and it was a beautiful morning although just where the Sun was due to rise there was a thick grey bank of cloud and haze. With the houses near it soon became evident that I wouldn't see it from home, so of I went to a vantage point nearby, and waited. I could see where the sun was rising but I couldn't see any sun!

27th August 2003 Mars Star Party - Photo Gallery Thankyou to all EAAS members who turned up at such short notice at the Big Collin Picnic Park. Mars was shining brightly throughout the evening as we slewed the scopes to M13, M27, M31, M33, M45, M51, M57, M81, M82, M101 and more. Uranus was a beautiful turquiose blue and the milky-way was like a blanket of stars. The star party commenced at 9pm and went on for over 4 hours as the conditions were excellent.

Report of the Astronomy Day held on Saturday 7th June, 2003 The East Antrim Astronomical Society held an "Astro-Day" on Saturday June 7th from 10am until 4pm in the Thompson Primary School, Ballyrobert, Co. Antrim. Alderman Paul Girvan, the Mayor of Newtownabbey, officially opened the event with the Principal of the school receving a gift for allowing the use of the building and grounds. |
