Autumn 2004 EAAS meetings begin with a jouney of the Solar System

The September meeting of the East Antrim Astronomical Society began with the usual and welcome introduction from our longstanding and ever dedicated chairman, John McConnell FRAS. Many new members were welcomed into the society and we trust that they will feel right at home and come to enjoy and learn more about astronomy in the coming months.

Our founder member, Sandy Morrison, was the main speaker for the evening and his subject was the solar system. Sandy gave his talk with a friendly and relaxed style and showed us the planets and how the size of our solar system fits into the vastness of the universe. For more detailed information, including what Sandy covered, on the planets and the solar system, check out our online Solar System guide.

After the meeting, Sandy and Eileen provided their usual excellent supper which was enjoyed by all the members...
